Hyaluronic acid effect on the stability and the rheological properties of cosmetic o/w emulsions.


Abstract The effect of different concns. (0.2 - 0.5%) of hyaluronic acid (HA) on the stability and the rheol. properties of cosmetic O/W emulsions was assessed. O/W emulsions were prepd. using 3 different emulsifiers (Emulgade SE, Brij 721, Montanov 68) under the same exptl. conditions. Stability test results showed that HA addn. to the emulsions being tested affected their stability depending on the type of emulsifier used and/or HA concn. in the formulation.
