Interaction of niosomes with phospholipid biomembranes as a predictive parameter in percutaneous adsorption

Abstract The capability of various niosome formulations to influence the thermotropic characteristics of a biol. membrane model made up of dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) was studied by means of differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) analysis. DSC experiments showed that niosomes are able to mix with the DPPC model membrane, thus inducing a change in the thermotropic characteristics as a function of the non-ionic surfactant component which constitute the niosome formulation. Span and Brij were used as non-ionic surfactant for niosome preparation
